Abandoned Tudor Mansion

Patience finally paid off when it comes to this Abandoned Tudor Mansion!  Zenning with Zay & I knew it was sold to a developer & we just  had to wait it out!

This Abandoned Tudor Mansion was listed back in 2011 for 2.5 million.   As per the listing;: The possibilities for this property are endless. Rolling landscaped grounds encompassing 4.97 acres nestled on the edge of the oak ridges moraine. This country escape boasts expansive lawns and the spectacular wooded lot welcome deer and wildlife right into the backyard. This is a perfect opportunity for developers to build or for an end user to find tranquility in this gorgeous dream home.

There were several other houses in the area that had been abandoned a lot longer.  This one was the hold out for the development.  I swear it was two years we had watched this place.  We even ran into the owners on one occasion!

The property which this Abandoned Tudor Mansion sits on will be redeveloped for a large housing project.  The plans are for 50 detached house ranging from 4600 to 7000 square feet.  The price ranges from 3.8 million to 4.7 million.  It's pretty crazy the price of the places & I am sure it won't take long to be sold out!

The mansion was torn down earlier this year.   It was quite surprising to see everything that was left behind.

It was clearly a custom home as the layout was odd.  There was a separate apartment over the garage that was likely a nanny suite.  Everything in this mansion pointed towards the kids were well cared for or even spoiled!

The fact the entire third floor was a play room tells me the kids definitely got everything they wanted!

The master bathroom was huge!  The shower was more of a corridor than a shower! Whoever designed this sure loved a big bathroom!

The basement here was quite surprising with the amount of children's items left behind.   I got the impression that they kept all the kids toys as they grew & left what they no longer wanted behind.  There was quite a bit that could have been donated.

As always I love a good staircase & the one here was definitely epic!  I was pretty surprised to see the number of pictures I took of them!  But then again, there were so many angles & I got them all!

This was a pretty epic explore & was the first of 2022!  I figured it would be a great way to end the year!  I can't wait to see what 2023 brings us!
