Abandoned Untouched Mansion – DEMOLISHED

This Abandoned Untouched Mansion was such a beauty!  Sad that is has been demolished.  Fortunately Zay & I got in to document it!

As we drove by a mansion I had passed many times something was different.  Something caught my eye & I knew I had to turn around to investigate further.  Sure enough my instincts were right but I was still on edge.  The driveway had not been plowed all winter but the house looked far too nice to be abandoned.  Could the owners be snowbirds?  As we got to the house my heart raced half expecting someone to come out of the house & yell at us but as I looked in the window I knew that wasn't going to happen.  The house was empty, pristine & amazing!  Now to find a way in!

The first few doors we tried we locked & things were not looking good.  We could see in & knew this was something truly spectacular & the possible entry points were all coming up as fails.  With one last door to check I held my breath as I reach for the door knob & gave it a turn.  Holy crap!! It opened!  As always we did an initial walk through & each room was better than the last.

One thing that struck me was how much natural light poured into the mansion.  Every room was quite large & had plenty of windows ensuring a bright living space.

The front entrance was huge & featured a gorgeous spiral staircase which if you have followed me for a while you'd know I absolutely love staircases, especially spiral ones!  As we navigated through the mansion we finally made our way into the basement.  There were two staircases to the basement, the main spiral staircase & then another just off of the kitchen which is the one we decided to go down.  Although not as stunning, it was still a very nice staircase & led to what appeared to be a kitchenette!

I thought this was odd at first until we ventured further into the basement.  The mansion, built on a hill is two stories with a walk-out.  We had circled the mansion & knew there were several doors leading from the basement out but didn't know why until we entered what I call the ballroom for obvious reasons.

Now this was something else!  A massive room that spanned roughly half the length of the house with parquet flooring, large stone fireplace, incredible woodwork, & a bar.  We were awestruck to say the least. We took a moment to think about the parties that took place here.  Diner, dancing & a whole heap of good times for sure!  It took a moment to take it all in & but now it was time to get down to business!
