This New Brunswick Abandoned House was a random find for Zenning with Zay & I on our last day of exploring. This was part of our epic adventure honeymoon!





It was our last day that we could spending adventuring so we did just that! Stopping at all the touristy places & taking pics of it all! It was a gloomy & wet day but that didn't put a damper on our spirits! A few short hours into the day & we came across this abandond house!





It was clearly abandoned so we left Opie in the car to have a look!  It turned out t be a lot more interesting than it looked at first.  That's the thing with some places.  You gotta dig in a bit sometimes to find the secret!





The kitchen area was pretty messed up & looked like someone was planning a reno.  But that never happened clearly! One thing I noticed were the awesome doors!  A real 1960s vibe!  Moving on things quickly became less trashed!





There main sitting/living area was a pretty good shape.  Only a bit of decay.  It's always surprising to find photos still hung on the walls of these places we go.





Upstairs had even more stuff with items left untouched like the beds!  The old A-Team bedsheets was some nostalgia for me as I had them as a kid!  Pretty cool too see them, in a bed of a abandoned house decades later!  The last bedroom had the coolest stuff!  I always enjoy finding old photographs & these portraits were awesome! Pretty amazing place!  Be sure to check out the rest from this epic road trip!

When the chance to explore e an Abandoned Fishing Vessel came up I was beyond excited!  Zenning with Zay not so much but all the changed once we got there!





Now this was not an easy explore despite its appearance!
There was fences that needed to be climbed, workers to dodge & even Canadian Coast Guard to avoid! It's kinda funny as this really checked all of our boxes yet wasn't really a priority on this particular road trip!





For someone such as myself or Zay, an abandoned boat is something very unique! Especially one this size! We come from Ontario as many of you know & the province is peppered with abandoned houses! It's not only what got us into the hobby but also our bread & butter so to speak! So yes, it was a welcomed change to explore this! Plus the fact is was the equivalent to a time capsule house made it all the more amazing!





The next area I had to check out was a lower level which was even more cramped & was essentially sleeping quarters for up to another 8 sailors! It was dark down there & I could feel a little bit of claustrophobia saying hi to me! Didn't spend much time down there as I am sure you can appreciate!





Back on the main deck level I checked out the bunks & other rooms.  They were all so cramped yet functional.  You work with what you have!  Personally I don't think I could handle being stuck on one of these things for more a few hours!  Especially when considering how unforgiving the ocean can be!





The next area was up top where the captain had his bunk as well as a map/navigation room.  The Captain's bunk was obviously nicer than the rest with several extras but most luxurious was privacy!





Everything about this Abandoned Fishing Vessel was epic!  But there was still one more area to check out!  That was the bridge!  This was so interesting to see!  All the equipment still in place & quite possibly some still in working condition!  This was definitely an amazing explore & we both were so happy to have taken the time to check it out!

Now for something different from the everr amazing Point Prim Lighthouse!




Located in southwestern Nova Scotia on the Bay of Fundy across the bay from Saint John New Brunswick is the small town of Digby. The area is well known for whale watching.  If you go out to the point you are able to see the sunrise & sunset! On our third day of our trip we planned on sleeping at the lighthouse in the car.

After a long drive we finally arrived! Unfortunately there was a bright street light illuminating the lot & houses where very close by. Not an ideal place to sleep! After looking at the map, Zenning with Zay found a round nearby that would hopefully serve as our campground. My biggest concern was obviously with our safety. We parked, setup inside the car & had a few drinks before shutting it down for the night.

It was jut before sunrise when an ATV rove right by us.  I woke & was trying to get up & out of the car.  But, having completely closed the windows  just waking, I was a bit dazed & ended up setting the car alarm off instead!  Fortunately Zay got us organized & we headed down to the lighthouse for the below sunrise pics!!





Fast forward to November 2021 & we find ourselves back in Nova Scotia on yet another road trip! This time we were on our honeymoon with our Husky puppy, Opie!

So continuing on we had just finished the day exploring the epic Abandoned Theme Park!  We we fairly close so we decided to haul our butts over & try to capture the sunset for a different perspective!  With maybe 10 minutes to spare we arrived at the lighthouse.  Raced down to the water in the incredibly gusty wind & were able to capture some incredible photos.  Point Prim Lighthouse is truly an amazing place & has never ceased to amaze me!  I am so grateful Zay shared it with me!  Bellow are the photos from the sunset visit!

Exploring this Abandoned Theme Park was definitely one of the highlights of the road trip!  This was about the mid point to the road trip & was the first explore after part one of the the blog!





The Abandoned Theme Park was something I just so happened to hear about only days before Zenning with Zay & I hit the road!  I really had no idea what to expect so we were extra cautious at first.  But it wasn't that way the entire time!  We quickly became comfortable with the park up until we spotted security.  Then it became a game of hide  seek.





The history of this Abandoned Theme Park was quite eventful for having been around for a relatively short period of time.  The park was funded & constructed entirely by the province & opened in 1989 at a cost of $23 Million!  In less than 5 years rumors swirled that the park was in danger of shutting down which prompted a group of local businesses made a bid to take it over.  The bid didn't measure u to a bid made by 16 businessmen from Hong Kong.  Unfortunately these businessmen had little interest in the actual park.  Turns out by investing in the park they were able to gain immigration into Canada through an investment program.





The businessmen had only laded a 3 year lease during shih time they made numerous which led to a drop in attendance of around 22%. This is a huge number & the original group that made a bid, finally won it uncontested in 1996 for a 10 tear lease. Sadly by this time the park had suffered from years of neglect & missing inventory. Two years later after winning their bid, the government invented $1.4 million & another million in 2003. A previously closed tunnel that connected two area was reopened as attendance rose to 100,000! The management team had turned the deficit into a surplus of 200K!





In 2007 the park was sold to a local not for profit group for $1 million. The province kicked in an additional $1.3 million for capital improvements & to fund the transition. In the same year the group declared the park to officially be debt free! The park manager also stated the park created 200 direct & 200 indirect jobs & was a major part of the local economy.





Now the first shot from the set below might look familiar. It was actually the Haunted Abandoned Stone Mansion! I figured it was big enough on its own for a stand-alone post so there it is!   Apparently that was actually donated by a kindly older man who had hopes of seeing a theme park there.  Well that's what I was told when I posted it! Then I headed over to the rollercoaster.  Zay had already been over there but it was now my time.  Go figure security is lurking in the area.  I had to cut my trip over to that area short so I can get back to the rest of rides!





With numerous confirmed sightings now of security we headed back to where we first came into the park which was by the waterslide & flume ride. These two spots were pretty awesome & obviously based on the number of pics I took, the flume ride was my fave! I was disappointed we had to cut our visit short due to security but it was an amazing explore!! The plan for the property was to clear the land, repurpose rides & attractions else where & hopefully build a private school. The last article I saw was some legal issues in December where some shady dealings had occurred. I also read of security not being paid at times. Pretty crazy explore & story nonetheless!!

In November of 2021 Zenning with Zay & I decided it was time to get away & go on a road trip!  In fact, it had been to nearly two months since we got married in the Abandoned Burwash Prison & no honeymoon as of yet!  So we decided to do what we both love which is exploring, road trips with our Opie, adventure & spending time together!!








I didn't start documenting our East Coast Road Trip until the third day.  The reason for this is that the first to days were essentially us driving through very familiar territory.  We just wanted to get out east as far as possible in the shortest amount of time!  The first stop we took where we actually took our cameras out was Chutes-de-la-Chaudière!  This 35M tall waterfall was VERY impressive!  Plus being able to access the bottom on those jagged rocks made for some great shots!





We then headed east along the backroads looking for anything interesting to shoot.  Soon enough we started coming across abandoned in Quebec near the New Brunswick border!  Unfortunately they were all locked up tight but that's okay!





The last stop of the day before we found a place to sleep was this huge abandoned school. Unfortunately I was unable to find anything about it & it was VERY well sealed so we didn't get a chance to go inside. That said, we were able to capture some dramatic sunsets as you can see!!

The next day we started out with exploring this Decaying Abandoned New Brunswick House.  This was explored before we even had a coffee into us!  That may sound like nothing, but we had slept in the car a few nights already so it was definitely needed!   From there We toured our way to Nova Scotia with plans of staying somewhere near the Bay of Fundy.  We stopped at an awesome covered bridge & a few more abandoned house but the weather was crummy & most places were locked up tight.   We had already travelled so far & were about half way into the adventure.  This was about the time we really started exploring!!   Stay tuned for part two!!
