During the holiday season, Zenning with Zay & I returned to the Abandoned House in the Woods. It had been over 6 years since we last explored this place so we were curious to see how time had treated it. Much to our surprise, nature gave it a good beating!
As soon as we stepped inside it was clear things went downhill. Six years is a long time for a place to sit. When we first visited, decay was just beginning in some areas. But for the most part, it was pristine, Some rooms showed the early signs of a leaky roof that were now a complete wreck!
There was one area of the upstairs that was exactly the same as it was on our first visit. In all honesty, I forgot how it looked as it was so long ago. But when I checked out my original photos, I was surprised. It seemed to be the oldest part of the house & was built the best!
Another thing that was clear was how many item had be removed. It was actually quite surprising to see when comparing to 2018 photos. I suspect that who ever had been related to the property came & removed most of the items. Especially when it came to old photos & other items that seemed personal.
The Abandoned House in The Woods is steadily decaying & will soon be at a point where its no longer safe to explore. Its at the point that when the temperature is above zero, I would stay out of some rooms! Some of those floors are so rotten & held together by the water soaked up in the flooring!
