Creepy Abandoned 1800s Country Mansion

Set far back from the road was this Creepy Abandoned 1800s Country Mansion! I had this pinned for a while now but wasn't entirely sure about it. Zenning with Zay & I decided to finally check it out. Since our last time in the area the place had a few more signs to tell us it was time to check it out! Sure enough as we rounded the tree line that was mostly obstructing our view, we are greeted with this incredible place!

The property was once home to a wealthy horse breeder for many years before it was sold. I was actually quite surprised to see how much things had changed over the years from the satellite imagery. The grounds were well maintained with a large vegetable garden, plenty of landscaping & even a inground pool! On our visit the garden was now a road, the landscaping now consumed by weeds & the pool was a oil spot stained gravel parking lot.

The original part of the house was the oldest.  It dated easily back to the early 1900s if not late 1800s!  You can tell from the size of the rooms & height of the ceilings, they were a wealthy family!  This was my favourite mostly because you could see the age.  But also, the decay!  Lots of natural decay & then the giant hole left by the Kool-Aid Main!

The rest of the Creepy Abandoned 1800s Country Mansion had been modernized. It almost seemed the the other side was left abandoned while they lived in this area. It was weird to say the least. Although it was cleaner, it still had some pretty awesome features. The last part I went into was the far basement. I couldn't believe what I saw! The basement had been flood maybe 4.5 feet deep for some time & then pumped out! Pretty wild! I suspect pipes burst, flooding the basement while the home was abandoned. I wasn't able to find much more information but I still had a great tome piecing together the story for myself!
