On a blistering hot day, Zenning with Zay & I decided to check out this Decaying Abandoned House!  We had spotted it before, but vehicles in the driveway kept us away.  This time it was very overgrown & no one was around!





The temperature was soaring that day, up in the 40s (Celsius) but we wanted to do some exploring. As we were heading home, we passed by this old place & decided it was time to check it out. The entire house was very overgrown with grasses taller than me in some areas! The bugs were also bad & biting. When we finally made our way in, it was a nice surprise as it was cool. Now it was also pretty gross as things were soaked with rain water, but a break from the heat was needed.

Unfortunately I was unable to find any history about this place.  The address only turned up that it was part of the new boundary expansion for a town.  As well, it is a potential location for future residential development.  But there is no timeline of that.

The decay in here was absolutely amazing!  If you have followed me, you know its something I always enjoy seeing.  Nature taking it all back!  This Decaying Abandoned House was one I wanted to explore for a while & am happy to finally explore it!

This Abandoned House with Luxury Cars was such an amazing find!  Zenning with Zay & I had come across this one before but never actually tried to explore it.  We often take the long way home, looking to see what we can find for future adventures.




When we first walked inside it was a good sign to see that awesome piano.  I immediately took out my camera & got down to business.  There wasn't a lot left behind & there were some areas wrecked from scrappers.  But as I moved around the house I was able to find some interesting little details.  I especially liked the decay in the kitchen area.  Very clear that this place had been abandoned for a long time!





As always, we save shooting outside until the end. That way if we are spotted, we can finish up & leave with a full explore complete!  I was shooting the front, when Zay headed over to the garage.  I then hear her say there are cool cars in the garage. Excited, I ran over to see what they were.  Sure enough there were cool cars!   A Cadillac & a Mercedes!   If anyone can tell me the year & model for these I would be grateful!  This was truly a surprising discovery making the Abandoned House with Luxury Cars a great way to end the day!

Zenning with Zay & I were checking out another abandoned building when we spotted this Abandoned Newspaper Building!  Both were abandoned but this one was the one we actually took pictures of!





It didn't take long to figure out what this place was & it turned out to be pretty cool! The Newspaper opened in 1922, just three years after the town was incorporated!  The town itself was built on mining.  The population peaked in 1938 with 26,000 residents.  The primary mineral mined here was gold.





Back in 2018 the parent company announced the closing of 36 of 41 recently acquired publications. From a union release, the move was to eliminate competition & was is blow to small communities as well as the nations democracy. This may sound extreme however they aren't wrong. I mean, whatever the parent company's views are, this is now the only view.  Many of the newspapers were shutdown completely.  One had been in operation for 163 years!  Some were transitioned into online only publications but there still was roughly 300 jobs lost.





It was by pure chance that we happened upon it in what would have been its 100th year! I suspect this was the original building from when it first opened. You can see area where they added modern upgrades but many original items/designs were still visible.





The office & writing area upstairs was pretty cool but the main floor as the best! This is where you could really see the age of this Abandoned Newspaper Building!





The main area had some amazing decay. It seemed to be a reception area where you could purchase subscriptions. Also this is where tou would come to discuss & pay for advertising! It seeed that someone had come at on poit & did some cleaning. This seemed to have been a whle ago as there was still loads of decay & debris on the floor.





The last area was the printing/factory area. This was a rough spot for the building! You can see one area the roof had mostly caved in. The weird thing was that there was no debris. You'd expect to see something on the floor but it was pretty clean! Must have been cleaned a while back like the front. The rest of the warehouse are was clearly 100 years old roughly & was pretty interesting to explore! This was a pretty awesome spot for such a random discovery. This turned out to be the first of several abandoned places we found which included this abandoned pizza place!

This Creepy Abandoned Farm House was definitely a cool spot to explore!  Thanks to Cherotica & Knifeguy for hooking Zenning with Zay & I up with it!





It was the second day of our road trip & we were moving a bit slow.  We had found a quiet spot the night before to car camp & have a fire.  Well, so we thought but that wasn't the case!  Just as we were getting ready for bed we could hear ATV's getting closer! Since it was midnight I assured Zay nobody was coming.  Within a minute there was side-by-side & ATV right there!  They ended up staying for a few hours & celebrating because it was my birthday!  Random friends in random places!





We were exhausted & low on confidence so we didn't really do much in the morning aside from some touristy type locations.  Those are all fine but we need something with some risk to give us that boost!  It was then that we got word on this Creepy Abandoned Farm House.  Well, at the time we didn't know it was creepy!





We did have Opie with us but because we didn't know what we were getting in to, we didn't want to risk it.  So the boy stayed in the car while we explored!  It was the right choice as this place had many hazards stuff he could get in.





There was so much stuff inside this place.  With old places like these, the last tenants usually are renters.  It seems that once the renters leave, they leave so much behind.  I suspect its due to down sizing or great financial loss.  I've seen it before with a place I called Rachel's House.




The main floor pretty awesome as well but there was a mess throughout.  Sadly some people feel the need to trash these places.  But there was still plenty of beauty & all around awesomeness here to make it an epic adventure!

The Abandoned Pastors House was yet another random discovery.  It always amazes Zenning with Zay & I just how many abandoned house are out there!





During the 2021 Christmas holidays Zay & I spent several days exploring all over the place.  As we were heading to one destination, we came across what appeared to be an abandoned house.  The property wasn't overgrown & the fresh snow made it seem no one had been there.  But, our instincts told us to have a closer look so we did!





Our instincts were correct as the was in fact abandoned!  The front yard had been kept up however but not so much the backyard!





I started off at the one end of the house upstairs.  It was actually quite odd this one area as it was only two rooms then a connecting door to the main side.  It was clear an addition was put on at one point but why the short door?!  PS...how about that shag carpeting! lol





I then went to the other side of the upper level which was definitely the original home.  It had a pretty sweet staircase with hardwood wrap around railing which I shot from as many angles as possible!

I headed back down to the main floor of the Abandoned Pastors House where I checked out the kitchen, living room, family room & the last few spots.  I must say it was an interesting house.  Oh & I almost forgot as it has been a few months but the centre of the house was drooping.  Meaning the floor was soft in the middle!  I remember by the kitchen entrance & area it was all soft.  Now I did see a basement but oddly was unable to locate how to get down there!  A great little explore early on this abandoned house's life!
